This book is designed to help students to get ready to take an English proficiency test. This manual is specifically designed to fulfill the students’ needs for preparing for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or any other English language competency tests.
The guide offers a thorough introduction of each of the four language competency test domains—reading, writing, listening, and speaking. To assist you in comprehending the structure of the test and the kinds of questions you can anticipate encountering, it includes sample questions and exercises. The module also covers essential strategies for test-taking, time management, and stress reduction.
After taking the course and reading this book, it is expected that:
- Students are able to describe the purpose, content, and format of TOEIC, TOEFL PBT, TOEFL IBT, and IELTS.
- Students are familiar with and identify the format and directions of the test of TOEFL PBT and IELTS.
- Students are able to apply their listening, writing, reading, and speaking skills to successfully complete the language proficiency test.
- Students demonstrate test taking skills for TOEFL PBT and IELTS.
- Students achieve at least band 5.5 on IELTS prediction and 500 on TOEFL PBT prediction.
